This course will provide an introduction to attachment theory and the four styles of attachment in relationships. LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Identify how each of the 4 attachment styles experience relationships and family interactions during the holidays.
  • Clarify the coping mechanisms for how each of the 4 attachment styles handle stress and how stress activates the attachment system
  • Outline steps clinicians can take to help clients implement a Holiday Mental Health Plan to promote more meaningful interactions during the holiday season.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Clinicians who are interested in attachment theory and provide treatment to clients with various attachment styles, who struggle with their relationships and family interactions during the holidays.
