Privacy Policy
When you use the WRTA Assessment (“WRTA”), you trust us with your information. We use your information to provide, maintain, protect, and improve WRTA and the Services, as that term is defined by the WRTA Terms of Service. This Privacy Policy is meant to help you understand what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. This Privacy Policy applies to all WRTA Services.
1. User Data. “User Data” means:
a. information required to provide the Services including (i) personal and contact information that may directly or indirectly identify you ("Personal Identifiable Information" or "PII"); and
b. information you provide individually and as a couple by participating in the Services, which includes (i) a record of personal challenges and issues you faced for which you seek our help, and (ii) your WRTA Assessment results.
2. Purchase Information. All payment information is securely collected and stored by a secure third party payment processor. We do not retain or have access to your payment credentials, but are provided a summary of transactions.
3. Cookies and other similar technologies. In order to improve and enhance your User experience and the overall quality of the Services, we may use encrypted, secure session “cookies”, or other similar technologies, to identify your browser or device and keep track of the times you visit our website or use the Services. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. Please note that by doing so, you may not be able to use the full functionality of the WRTA website.
4. Do Not Track signals. At this time the WRTA website does not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals.
5. User consent. We will not use your User Data for a purpose other than those set out in this Privacy Policy without your prior written consent.
6. WRTA Assessment Services. User Data may be disclosed to your certified WRTA Assessment facilitator to enable relationship conversations based on your WRTA Assessment.
7. Use to improve Services. We may use User Data to improve our Services, to help solve any issues you might be facing, to offer you tailored content, or to inform you about changes or improvements to the Services.
8. Use for research. We may internally use User Data to continue our research into healthy, successful relationships.
9. Disclosure of User Data. We may disclose User Data to third parties and partners necessary for the provision of the Services. Any User Data disclosed to such third parties and partners will be anonymized and may be aggregated.
10. Disclosure to facilitators. As part of the Services, your Information—including your individual responses, the responses you provide as a couple, and your WRTA Assessment results—may be disclosed to the certified WRTA Assessment facilitator you are working with. We may also enable the certified WRTA Assessment facilitator you are working with to disclose your Information to other certified WRTA Assessment facilitators within their organization.
11. Disclosure for research. We may retain and use User Data to continue our research into healthy, successful relationships and to improve the Services. Except for PII, WRTA may also disclose some of your User Data to trusted third party research partners. This research may be published in academic journals or other publications.
12. Disclosure by law. We may disclose User Data if required to do so by law or if disclosure is reasonably required to (1) comply with the law, a request or order from law enforcement, or any legal process; (2) protect or defend WRTA, or a third party’s rights or property; or (3) to protect someone’s health or safety, such as when harm or violence against any person (including you) is threatened.
13. Disclosure to protect abuse victims. We reserve the right, but have no obligation to, disclose User Data if we suspect or have reason to suspect that User Data pertains to a party who may be a victim of abuse in any form. User Data may be disclosed to authorities that we deem appropriate to handle such disclosures, such as law enforcement agencies, child protection agencies, or court officials.
14. Security. All information you provide is electronically transmitted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, according to cryptology best practices. SSL is a coding system that allows your browser to automatically encrypt (scramble) data before it is sent. We protect your account information by placing it on a secure portion of the WRTA website that is only accessible by WRTA website administrators. And we follow industry best practices, including user authentication mechanisms, to prevent data leakage and resist certain hacking techniques. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your Information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of your Information.
15. Updating User Data and Preferences. Certified WRTA Assessment facilitators can update their profiles through their Facilitator Dashboard. Users may update or delete their WRTA accounts or update their mailing preferences by contacting our support team at [email protected]. We will strive to quickly and efficiently update or delete your Information at your request—unless we have a legitimate business or legal reason to keep that information or unless requests require disproportionate technical effort, risk the privacy of others, or would be extremely impractical. Before acting on your request to update or delete your Information, we may ask you to verify your identity.
16. Acceptance of Privacy Policy. By using the Services, you accept the terms of and agree to comply with this Privacy Policy. We may amend or modify this Privacy Policy at any time, for any reason, without notice or liability. Changes are effective immediately upon posting to the WRTA website (welchrta.com/privacy-policy).
Contacting WRTA. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, our practices, or your experience with the WRTA website or Services, you can contact us via email at [email protected] (include Privacy Policy as your subject line).
